The Coles County Retired Teachers Association welcomes retired teachers, their spouses, and certified staff retiring within the next five years to join the Association. Current membership includes approximately 222 local members.

The purposes of CCRTA are to:

1. Serve as a local unit of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association
2. Work to maintain and improve benefits to annuitants of TRS
3. Promote education and the professional, social, and economic status of all members
4. Help to advance the interests and welfare of the retired in the state and local community
5. Work in cooperation with other organizations to attain these goals
